True Crime Series? Interesting cases you may not know about!

Hey y’all,

I know… I know. I haven’t been posting in a while and trust me there is no good excuse. But take my word for it I will be posting on here a lot more often! That aside we have some things to talk about. Are you like me and you want binge watch serial killer documentaries/movies on the couch for hours? Or even get exciting by watching crime TV shows? Ditto. I have always liked true crime and once thought about going into criminal justice. That quickly burned out as I realized all the long hours the job entailed. That doesn’t however stop me from being a huge true crime fanatic and learn all I can about all the interesting cases I have ever come across. Here is a case that really left me dumbfounded. I’m thinking about making this a series!!

Aileen Wuornos

Claimed to be “The First Female Serial Killer” Aileen was no saint by any means. Aileen was born February 29, 1956 in Rochester, Michigan. She experience a very traumatizing childhood from her father killing himself while he served time for child molestation, and her mother leaving her and her older brother behind, which lead them to be raised by their grandparents. You would think the children would be better off with their grandparents but no, Aileen’s grandma was a reported alcohol and her grandfather was just down right terrifying. Friends of young Wuornos stated her grandfather would physically abuse her. She stated later on in life that she was sexually assaulted by her grandfather and that she also had sexual relations with her brother. She became pregnant as an early teenager (14) and gave the baby up for adoption. She was then forced to live in the woods not to far from her family.

While living in the woods she created this structure that housed her from some of the elements but not all. After a while of living in this “hut” she realized that the winters are going to be too much for her and her best bet was to move south. So through the 1970s-80s she hitchhiked and got involved with sex work to stay alive and get her where she needed to be. Upon arriving to Florida she met a man named Lewis Fell who was a millionaire. This marriage was cut short however after multiple physical altercations, the couple was annulled that same year. It wasn’t until 1986 that Aileen met Tyria Moore who would be her partner until the time she was arrested. Although they were in love, this couple was definitely not a pair of angels. They would make money selling stolen items at pawn shops, Aileen still making money from sex work, and the two of them moving around from different sketchy motel rooms and apartments constantly. These two were together for four years and Tyria stated that she knew Aileen was killing men, but didn’t want her to say too much so that wouldn’t make her an accessory.

Oh trust me there’s more. From November of 1989 through November of 1990 Wuornos killed 7 men along Florida highways.

  • Richard Mallory (51) was found December 13, 1989 near Ormand Beach. He had been shot multiple times in the chest.
  • David Spears (43) a construction worker was found nude June 1, 1990 in Citrus County, he was shot six times in the torso.
  • Charles Carskaddon (40) a part time rodeo worker was found June 6, 1990 in Pasco County, he had been shot nine times in the chest and abdomen.
  • Troy Burress (50) a salesman was found August 4, 1990, his cause of death was found to be two gunshots to the torso.
  • Charles Humphreys “Dick” a retired air force major, police chief and Florida child-abuse investigator was found on September 12, 1990 in Marion County. He was shot multiple times in the head and torso
  • Peter Siems (65) left central Florida headed for New Jersey in June of 1990, his car was found in Orange Springs, FL on July 4, 1990. His body was never recovered, although Aileen confessed to his murder.
  • Walter Antonio (62) was found November 19, 1990 in Dixie County. He had been shot four times in the back and head.

Aileen was then arrested on January 9, 1991 after police traced the stolen items she pawned back to her. Within two weeks of her arrest, she sold the film rights to her life story. She thought this would make her rich, but what she didn’t realize is that Florida Law states that you are not able to profit from criminal enterprise this way. Aileen was then put to death by lethal injection on October 9, 2002. Her last words were “Yes, I would just like to say, I’m sailing with the rock, and I’ll be back like independence day, with jesus.”

All in all Aileen definitely had her demons and chose to deal with them in probably the worst ways possible.

I am wanting to make this a series! If you have any interesting cases that you have heard and want me to cover, please message me, email me or comment! Please like, share and follow this blog as I am going to post these once a week!
